MADRID, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo said on Wednesday that star striker Radamel Falcao was happy at the club, but admitted that if a club was willing to pay the player's buyout clause there was little Atletico could do to stop him leaving.

Falcao's eight league goals, plus the hat-trick he scored in the European Supercup against Chelsea have made the Colombian striker one of the hottest properties on the market with clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid all interested in him.

However, Atletico will not negotiate the player's departure which means anyone pretending to buy Falcao would have to pay the player's 60 million Euro buyout clause.

Falcao is very happy at Madrid and while he doesn't show any different feelings to the club, then he will carry on being our player, said Cerezo speaking on TeleMadrid.

However, the Atletico President implied that the 60 million Euros from Falcao's buyout clause would be very welcome for the Atletico economy.

If someone comes along with his buyout clause, he doesn't even need to come and say goodbye. We shouldn't interpret that badly, as we always say things clearly, continued Cerezo, who pointed out the player has three and a half years on his contract, while also explaining the club's financial situation.

There is no company in Spain that doesn't need money and Atletico are among those companies for various reasons: the players earn a lot of money and income is perhaps not what it needs to be. Atletico has its debts and it tries to pay them and it tries to survive, he explained.

Perhaps for that reason, Cerezo admitted that in contrast to Real Madrid and Barcelona, who have said they are against taking the final of the Spanish Supercup to China, Atletico would be in favor of such a move.

If the Supercup was played in China and gave the club extra money then it would be a good thing. All of the clubs are interested in that, he said.
