BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese new pair He Chong/Qin Kai claimed the men's three-meter springboard synchro title at the Diving World Series Beijing stop here on Friday.
The Chinese diving team bagged all of the four gold medals after Day One's competition as they also won the women's 3m springboard synchro and the men's and the women's 10m platform synchro.
It was the first time for He Chong and Qin Kai, the two Olympic champions, to pair with each other. Qin won this category's gold at the London Olympics together with teammate Luo Yutong, while He snatched the individual title at the Beijing Olympics.
The debut of the new pair met little challenge as they pull away other six pairs after first round and never looked back.
This is our first international competition, I'm happy to pair with Qin, said He. Today's result is beyond our imagination because we have only trained together for one month. I hope we can be better in the future.
He/Qin stamped their authority with 468.90 points in total. Russian Kuznetsov Evgeny/Zakharov Ilya took the silver medal with a margin of 38.58 points, while the bronze went to Castillo H.Yahel/Islas Daniel from Mexico with 396.15 points.
